It all started with Brian (Bud) Crichton and Margaret Niedermair Moodie…
Once friends, then engaged, then friends again who later decided their children at opposite sides of the globe would make a better go at it than them (they didn’t actually think that — it’s just all part of our wild and wonderful story)!
Fiona and Calum first met on Ayr Beach at the age of 10 - even then they realised that their friendship was something special.
For years they exchanged letters, cards, and daily after-school phone calls (using Fiona’s unlimited international plan, or this would have been a pricey experience). Calum (aka Big Ginger Calum) lectured Fiona about the wonders of the Glasgow Rangers, and Fiona tried to encourage Calum to become a sophisticated lover of Shakespeare and Dickens.
(Fiona became a convert and later had a poster of Nacho Novo on her wall, but Calum has yet to read a Shakespeare novel or go to a play with Fiona).
Twenty years of letters, transatlantic flights, visits and adventures around the world… they finally decided they could not live apart from one another and needed to get married.
Fiona and Calum hope you will join them on the 28th of March, 2024 for the start of their greatest adventure.
